Claymation

For our major first quarter project we had to choose an European explorer, and talk about his whole life story. My partner was Carrin. Our explorer was Hernando De Soto. We had to do allot of research, and find different facts about him. We also had to bring different materials to do our project (clay, Lego's, camera) and anything else we thought we might use. There had to be 7 different scenes explaining who Hernando was. But Mr.B had broken it down scene by scene. I had a lot of fun doing this project, like working with Carrin. The difficult part was making the clay people stand up and stay up. The most important thing I learned how to cooperate with a partner.

The most enjoyable thing about this project was working with Carrin. She was a good partner, because we both knew how to work well with each other without someone doing more work. Carrin and I only missed like one day each, so we rarely got behind. We each had something that we were good at while working on the project. Carrin is good at all that computer-tech kind of stuff, and I was good at making the different scenes. For the most part we would never mess around (well at least I never did). We were mainly on task. I was glad we got to have partners, because without Carrin it would have tooken me forever to finish.

The most difficult thing about this project was when we had to take pictures for the different scenes, the clay people would never stay standing up. In the beginning Carrin and I started to get really frustrated, cause we could never get things right. But after a while we started to get really good at it and knew just what to do. Another difficult thing that would always happen, is that whenever we would try to do a voice recording for one of our scenes, there was always loud people in the back round. So then we would have to start all over again. It took awhile just to get one scene done. Also Carrin and I would have different ideas for each of our scenes, we decided just to put our ideas together, so the all of our scenes looked and sounded really good.

The most important thing I learned is that you really have to work hard and cooperate with your partner, or else you would get nothing done, and it wouldn't turn out good. lucky for my partner and I, we really knew how to work well with each other. After a few scenes I learned that if you rush things, it won't get done properly. We eventually learned the skills of working as partners. Going slow and steady really showed when our whole thing was done. Also I liked learning allot of stuff about Hernando De Soto, childhood, his journeys, and other facts about him.

Over all, the project went pretty good. I hope that Carrin got as much out of this project as I did. For both of us never doing a project liked this, it ended quite well. I enjoyed having a good partner like Carrin. Even though we had problems along the way (like making the clay people stay up) . I learned so much, especially about Hernando, and how to work together as a team. I hope you like our European Explorer Claymation Project.
